A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

This is the double stroller that you need If you're looking for a light stroller that is easy to push with one hand. It's also easy to carry up and down the stairs.

It has two fixed seats and up to 30 different seating configurations are possible (including an angular one!). Both seats feature UPF 50+ canopy as well as peekaboo windows.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 double stroller is a side-by side double stroller. It can accommodate two children up to 50 lbs. The seats are bigger than similar strollers that are lightweight and the canopies feature large sunshades with SPF 50 with peekaboo windows. Other key features include one-parent cup holders and a large, self-standing bin that can hold up to 25 pounds; swing-away bars for children to get out and in their seats and swivel lock front wheels to make it easier to maneuver on difficult terrain. This is a great choice for suburban and urban families. It is also baby-friendly with a double set that includes an infant wedgie that can be used to lie flat in a position.

Weight

The weight of a double buggy is one of the key factors that will determine the ease to push. A lighter buggy is easier to lift and transport, but may not have enough suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.

Most double buggies come with a maximum weight per seat, and some have overall frame maximums which is why it's essential to verify the specifications of each model before you purchase. Some double buggies can be folded with seats removed, which makes them smaller and lighter. This is a great option when you're limited on storage space.

Tri-fold doubles are usually the lightest, since they require only one hand to lift the back and bottom sections. They are also smaller than side-by-side buggies, which makes them ideal to fit through doors. The iCandy Geo 3 is one of the lightest trifold doubles on the market, and can comfortably accommodate twins or a baby and toddler.

Tandem buggies start out as one pushchair, but they come with adapters to accommodate a carrycot, a second seat or car seat they are the ideal choice for expanding families. Some models, such as the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating configurations so they can grow with your family to accommodate three children. They are heavier than tri-folds however, because the weight is evenly distributed, they are easier to move around.

Folding

The best double buggies designed for small children fold up in seconds. Our Lab experts appreciate this feature because it lets them fit the buggies into the back of their cars and also save storage space when not in use. The Joovy Kooper X2 for example comes with straps that can be pulled up on the seats and then the whole thing folds down. Even our oldest testers were able to fold this tri-fold in just one hand.

The lightweight Delta Children LX side by side is another excellent option for a double buggies. Its light weight is a plus, but it also has some great features such as large pop-out canopies that have SPF 50 and peekaboo windows; swing-away bars that help youngsters get in and out of the seats and reclined seats and leg rests for smaller children.

Manoeuvrability

One of the most important things to think about when selecting a compact double buggy is its manoeuvrability, particularly how it is easy to move around with two children on board. Some pushchairs, for instance the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are better than others.

This is where narrow tandem buggies and side-by-side designs can be useful. These buggies can be a bit longer and can be difficult to maneuver through doorways.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 pushchair is a great example, as it's a small model that has two seats in addition to - most importantly - the pillion board, which can be used to accommodate a third child.

Other models with three wheels like the phil&teds dot are extremely agile, particularly with its clever 'dot kits which transforms it into an inline buggie. This has a couple of different seating options for children with different ages. It even allows the front seat to be rotated to face parents for ultimate face-to-face bonding time. It also comes with a fantastic storage basket that is easy to fold. It is a great option for families with growing children!

Comfort

With narrow tandem strollers, or flexible side-by-side buggies, parents can watch both kids while at the grocery store, park or wherever else. These lightweight doubles can hold two children up to 50 pounds each and come with spacious, pop-out canopies that extend far enough to offer real shade with peekaboo windows and padded leg rests for the little ones to relax and kick back. The doubles also feature cups for both parents and a a reversible cupholder on the back of the seat. They also have an enormous underseat storage basket.

Add the phil&teds Double Kit to your dot buggy when you are beginning with an expanding family. It will transform it into a double inline stroller that is ideal for toddlers and newborns alike.  Push Chairs And Prams UK -wheel design gives an excellent maneuverability and simple kerb pop, whilst the sling seat is an excellent newborn-ready choice for ultimate face-to-face bonding.
